**Self-prove is not verified.** The builder can run their own smokes and screenshots. Useful. Not trusted for ship. A second seat (or a human) has to re-check the claim before we call it done. Labels help: mark self-proved vs verified, and name who verified.

**Wrong channel, corrupt land.** Tried to push images through a chat path that mangled binaries. The door stayed empty until we dropped from Drive the normal way. Lesson: pick the tool that fits the payload. Text ledgers are not image pipes.

**A friend-artist door went live.** Multi-page, no chrome, photos on the public face: [burnett.of1.dev](https://burnett.of1.dev/). Untitled canvases until the painter names them. Smoke the door after the images land, not before.

**Soft bars are features.** When the Bot meter climbed past the soft pause, we wrapped the open asks into files and handed heavy work to the host plane. Spend signals are not embarrassment; they are routing.

**Split the monolith, then cut over.** A long single-file tool door became small modules with an explicit tool list. Acceptance suites had to stay green on the live side and the worktree side before cutover. First live prove after restart came from a second seat, not the builder alone.
